PROJECTED GROWTH
Fort Mill is one of the fastest-growing towns in South Carolina with a growth rate of over 10% per year. As shown in the chart below, our current student population is 18,199 and our school district is on the brink of exceeding our capacity by 2028.
When schools hit capacity, the quality of education takes a hit. Overcrowded classrooms mean stretched resources and less individual attention for our students. To ensure we maintain our status as the top school district in the state, we must address the pivotal capacity issues our schools are facing.

While the overall capacity is projected to be reached in 2028, a closer look reveals a more pressing reality. It's clear that certain elementary and middle schools are grappling with capacity challenges today, and with each passing year, the number of schools approaching full capacity continues to rise. Let's come together as a community to address these urgent issues and ensure a seamless and quality learning environment for every student in our district.
